What is the spiritual meaning of a visiting Robin?
Robins have long been viewed as a symbol of messages from the Universe, the Divine, or even angels.
Throughout history, the humble European robin became a highly sacred symbol. Traditionally, the Robin symbolises Christ’s blood and the feathers are thought to represent the spears from his crown of thorns.
Carl Jung, a famous psychologist, believed birds represent our inner spirit in general. To him, birds were symbols of angels, the supernatural, and souls. You will discover that Robins were and still are associated with the soul if you research bird symbolism.
Although often associated with winter, Robins are actually a symbol of spring. They represent many things, such as family, community, living in the moment, leaving the past behind, spring, rebirth, fresh starts, joy through music, feeling abundant, and being grateful. They are sometimes seen as a messenger for lost, loved ones.
In Norse mythology, robins were considered to be storm and lightning protectors. Robins in Celtic folklore are known as the Oak King of Summer.
Seeing a robin may be one of those moments in life when we can take a deep breath and connect with nature. But sometimes, their presence has a deeper meaning. Robin encounters should be considered an invitation to pause and reflect on what they mean. Though the sighting may seem to be a random event, taking the time to ponder what we see can be a beneficial spiritual practice.
